‘The Boxing
360 Series’ To be launched in NYC

“The Boxing 360
Series,” presented by Bob Duffy’s Ring Promotions
and sponsored by Boxing 360, will include three New
York City-based shows in 2010, starting September 24
at Plattduetsche Park Restaurant in Franklin Square.
Other series dates are tentatively set for November
4 and December 10.
“We want to keep the fighters in our stable busy and
take the company to the next level,” Boxing 360
Director of Boxing Bob Duffy explained. “We’re
committed to fighters we’ve signed and are looking
to sign more talent. There are a lot of talented
boxers in New York City but not enough shows. Not
all of the fighters on our shows will be with Boxing
360. We’re open to working with other promoters to
keep fighters fighting.”

COMES FROM BEHIND TO STOP CASTILLO IN SEVEN

Heavyweight Chazz “The Gentleman” Witherspoon came
off his longest lay off and struggled through the
first six rounds of his scheduled ten round bout
with Livin Castillo only to come out for round seven
and score a thrilling knockout that headlined a
great night a great night of boxing that was
promoted by Mike Brestle’s Spartan Fight Promotions
at the Trump Taj Mahal Grand Ballroom.
After a pretty even
first round, Castillo began to land numerous long
left hands to bot the body and head and it looked
like Witherspoon was a bit befuddled.
Witherspoon came out in round seven and went for
broke and succeeded as he landed a barrage of
punches that sent Castillo to the Canvas. Castillo
rose to his feet only to be battered all over the
ring by an unrelenting flurry by Witherspoon and

fight that helped showcase a dominant contender
aspiring to become the Supreme overlord of the
heavyweight division, NABF Champion Samuel “The
Nigerian Nightmare” Peters annexed the IBA title
from the rugged trash talking James "Lights Out"
Toney on September 2nd at the Staples Center in Los
Angeles in a fight featured on Showtime.
Here is how I called
the fight from the relative safety, and obscurity of
my living room -
Round 1: Peters lands
the first punch as Toney tries to bob and weave
forward and although Peters jabs sends Toney
slightly backward he is unable to catch the slippery
Toney flush. Peters lands some solid jabs, Toney
fires back but we are all amazed at how amazingly
quick Peters is, but Toney is quicker, near the end
of the round Peters misses several head shots as the
bobbing and weaving Toney corners him against the

"I'm not looking to fight anybody under 220 pounds
anymore" Grant would later comment light heartedly
about his inability to catch Adamek who used
constant movement and angles to prevent Grant from
getting his feet planted to land one of his fight

Team Sauerland regrets
to inform the boxing world that WBC Super
Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler has been forced
to pull out of the Super Six World Boxing Classic
due to an eye injury. His title defence against
Allan Green in Herning, Denmark on September 25 has
been cancelled.
“This is the most
disappointing moment of my boxing career,” Kessler

SADDAM STOPS EDMONDS: Saddam Ali used his superior boxing skills, and accurate precision hooks to stun Julius Edmonds, knock him down a couple of times forcing the referee Ed Cotton to stop the contest at 1.41 minute of round 3.

welterweight Sadam Ali will put his perfect 8-0
record on the line when he steps into the ring at
Newark's Prudential Center for the third time on
August 21st. In an eight-round welterweight bout,
Ali (8-0, 4 KOs) will fight Costa Rica's, Lenin
Arroyo (20-12-1, 4 KOs). This fight will be shown on
the PPV telecast.
Sadam Ali looked great
in his last fight, blowing out a walk-in styled,
non-puncher in Julias Edmonds. This time he goes in
with Arroyo, a 33-fight veteran who just a year ago,
went the limit with hard-hitting, unbeaten, Mike
Jones and then with James De La Rosa, also an
unbeaten welterweight prospect.
Ali, the first
Arab-American boxer ever to represent Team USA at
the Olympics, is an avid sports fan. This Wednesday,
he will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the
Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Staten Island game at MCU
Park, 1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th St, 7pm. The
Cyclones are the single A affiliate of the New York
Mets.

Lange Starts Three-Fight Tour

Fairfax, VA (August 17,
2010) – Junior middleweight contender Jimmy Lange
(33-4-2, 22 KOs) is back in action this Friday
night, hoping to continue his winning streak after
scoring a second-round knockout over Jimmy LeBlanc
in his last bout on July 10. Lange, a lifetime
resident of Northern Virginia, returns to the ring
on Friday in Greensboro, NC, beginning a busy
three-fight schedule leading him to Monroe, MI in
September and back home to the Patriot Center in
November.
Lange will face
Baltimore veteran Mike McFail in a six-round special
attraction bout as part of Walter Johnson
Promotion’s “Friday Night KO Fights” this Friday,
August 20 at the Greensboro (NC) Coliseum Complex’s
War Memorial Auditorium. It will be Lange’s first
fight outside of his hometown since May 2005, when

Big Time Challenge for Michael Grant

On August 21, 2010 six foot seven two hundred and
fifty plus pound former NABF & IBC Heavyweight World
champion “Big” Michael Grant 46-3 (34 KOs) will
challenge Tomasz “Goral” Adamek 41-1 (27 KOs) for
his IBF International and WBO North American Boxing
Organization heavyweight titles at the Prudential
Center in Newark as the main event on a fight card
suitably labeled the “Big Challenge”.
Since being knocked out in the second round by
former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis
for the IBF, IBO & WBC world titles back in
2000, nothing has been the same for the previously
undefeated Grant who was being hailed at the time as
the next great heavyweight prospect, but he was
given a pass because the boxing establishment
reasoned that he challenged Lewis before he was

Detroit's Own "K9" Captures IBF World Championship

 Fighting out of Detroit's Legendary Kronk Gym, Cornelius "K9" Bundrage defeated IBF Jr. Middleweight Champion, Corey Spinks, in Spinks' hometown of St. Louis, MO.
Spinks is the son of former Heavyweight Champion Leon Spinks. At one time, Leon Spinks was managed by Emanuel Steward and trained at the Kronk Gym.
K9 Won with a Devastating Knockout in the fifth round. He previously appeared on the hit reality TV show, "The Contender".
Over the past 30 years Legendary Boxing Icon, Emanuel Steward has trained and managed more than 41 World Champions, including the current World Heavyweight Champion, "Wladimir Klitschko", WBA Jr. Middleweight World Champion "Miguel Cotto" and Irish Middleweight Contender "Andy Lee".
"K9 is the first of what I expect to be a new generation of home-grown world champions," said Steward after the fight. "Soon I expect Dominique Dalton to become our next word champion."
K9 trained nine months for this fight. Although the fight was postponed four different times, that did not discourage him. He continued to show up at the Kronk Gym every day to prepare for this opportunity to be crowned IBF Jr. Middleweight World Champion. Trainer Javan "Sugar" Hill has been working closely with him.
Focused and determined in the ring, Bundrage also believes in giving back to the community. "He would come to the gym and mentor members of the Kronk Amateur Boxing Team by training and sharing his knowledge with our youngsters." Says Keith Lee, Kronk Trainer.

Prevost Adapts and Overcomes
 Blake "Candyman" Prevost will appear on the August 18, 2010, "Battle on the Bayou" event, live from the Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana, and televised live on ESPN2's Wednesday Night Fights
Boxing didn't start out so well for light heavyweight contender Blake "Candyman" Prevost - but he's a Marine. He overcame. He adapted.
"I started boxing at eight years old when I was 60 pounds," he explains. "The first week my grandfather and grandmother came to watch me train and they cried when they left!"
But Prevost (14-1-1, 5 KOs) is always faithful to his determination to succeed. "I kept it up and three years later I had a national title. I had over 200 amateur fights and won an Under-19 National title. I was State Golden Gloves Champ like 10 times."

It’s Personal - Alexander Says “Barratt Should Bring A Pillow, I’m Gonna Put Him To Sleep”
 The already heated war of words, between Former English Super Featherweight Champion Ryan Barratt and Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander ahead of their 11th September title clash on the Steve Goodwin Promoted ‘It’s Personal’ event at York Hall in London, is beginning to turn into a full blown fire-fight.
The fuse for the fiery verbal exchanges, was well and truly lit back in May this year, following Alexander publicly calling out Barratt on Steve Bunce’s BBC London Boxing Hour show.
Things got even more heated when both fighters appeared on the same card at Goodwin Promotions “Summer Fight Night Explosion” back on June 19th. During the post fight interviews both Barrett and Alexander made less than complimentary comments about the other. However the real flashpoint that day seems to have been with the interviewer asking Barratt if he would retire if ‘The Flash’ beat him on September 11th. Mason Menard Wins UBO All America Title  In front of a sell-out crowd, Local crowd-pleaser Mason Menard won the UBO All-America Lightweight title on Saturday night (July 31) at the Civic Center in Rayne, Louisiana when he beat Missouri state champion Robbie Cannon by technical knockout 37 seconds into the seventh round.
Menard got off to a slow start, but eventually took control and seemed to be landing the cleaner shots while Cannon was a bit busier. In round seven Menard connected with a left hook followed by a picture perfect right hand that send Cannon down. Cannon got to his feet, but referee Larry Berger felt he was unable to continue and waved the fight off.
Menard improved his record to 12-1 (10), and Cannon dropped to 12-6-1 (6). The successful show, billed as “The Heat Is On”, was promoted by Chad Broussard and his Boxncar Promotions.
With his new belt around his waist, Menard was happy but not entirely pleased with his own performance:
“It took me a little while to get started. Then Chad (Broussard) fired me up in the corner and told me to get my head in the game. I didn't start fighting until the seventh round like I should have in the first six rounds. I looked good throughout the fight, but that was not how I'm used to fighting", Menard told deepsouthboxing.com after the fight.
“I believe I won every round. He probably threw more punches than I did, but I was more accurate. I was dodging his punches. I hit him with some good shots, but I wasn't putting them together. I was hitting him with some good head and body shots, but not following up."
However, UBO USA Commissioner, and supervisor for the fight, Macke Roberts was impressed with both Menard and the surroundings in which the 21-year old performed, saying:

Faragon Wows Hometown Fans with TKO over Soto "Mikey Faragon will be a household name!" exclaims excited promoter
Fast-rising lightweight Michael "Baby Face" Faragon (12-0, 6 KOs) of Guilderland, New York, scored the most impressive victory of his blossoming professional career Friday night (July 30) at Pugnacious Promotions' Night of Future Champions event at the City Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Rodriguez, who is a former 3 time world title challenger, worked hard but in the end, Theophane just proved to be the better fighter.
